ABOUT US

Hello! My name is Suzy, and I have been involved in gymnastics since I was 10 years old. I was a competitive gymnast, as a Level 8 in Holland, Michigan, and then joined my high school team at Holland High School. Our team won the team State Championship titles from 1994-1997, and I was an individual champion in 1996 on Vault, Floor, and All-Around. I went off to Western Michigan University, where I competed on floor and vault for the Broncos in 1998 and 1999.

I retired from the sport and decided to coach high school gymnastics for Portage Northern and Central High Schools (2000-2004), Freeland & Swan Valley High Schools (2006-2013), and currently for Vassar Co-op (2021- current). 

I am a busy mother, wife, and teacher at Reese High School.

I love to travel, coach, and work with kids.

Hi, my name is Lauren. I've been coaching gymnastics for eight years, and I coached cheerleading for two years too. I started gymnastics in 6th grade and, in high school, switched to cheer. I cheered for 10 years, from 8th grade through college at SVSU for five years. During my time at SVSU, I joined the club gymnastics team because I missed the sport, and competed on the club team for two years. In my third year of college, I was asked by a fellow teammate to help coach the Vassar gymnastics youth team, and I haven't looked back! 

My favorite thing about coaching is seeing my gymnasts grow, learn new skills, and watching them become confident and outgoing athletes. My favorite events are floor and vault.

Hi, my name is Sydney. I've been doing gymnastics since I was seven years old and competed on both the Vassar Youth and High School teams. During my time on the high school team, I was nominated for the 2021 Senior Gymnast of the Year, broke the beam program record with a 9.675, was a State Runner-Up on beam, and earned All-State honors twice. 

The following year, I came back to coach and have loved it ever since! My favorite events are beam and floor, but I love coaching all of them! I am an elementary teacher at Akron-Fairgrove.

Hi, my name is Mallory, and I have been involved in gymnastics for the majority of my life. I competed for the Vassar Youth Gymnastics team and competed during my junior and senior years of high school for the Vassar Co-Op Gymnastics Team. I was very active in gymnastics and dance at Reese High School, where I graduated in 2022. I am still active with Reese Modern Dance, where I teach classes, as well as judge with the MHSAA and coach at TYG. 

I am currently a student at SVSU, where I'm pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. I love coaching because it gives me the chance to keep up with a sport I love and to be someone that kids can look up to. I love supporting them and helping them chase their dreams!

My name is Ellymae, and I have been involved in gymnastics since I was 4 years old. I started my gymnastics career at MMG, in Freeland and competed in gymnastics for them until I decided to try other school sports. I joined the Vassr HS gymnastics team in my 10th-grade year, and in my Senior Year, I earned All-Region team and qualified for the State Finals on Vault. Also, I ran cross country and track for Reese and earned All-State first team honors. 

Currently, I am attending college to earn a degree and become a health fitness specialist.

Hi, I'm Sadira, and I started doing gymnastics with Vassar Youth Gymnastics when I was six years old. I competed all the way through eighth grade, and then I joined the Vassar High School Co-op team! I recently completed my first season competing on the TYG AAU Adult Team.

I started coaching at TYG in 2024 and I coach recreational classes and our youth team. Gymnastics has been my passion for as long as I can remember and I absolutely love being able to teach kids about the thing that I love most! My favorite events are Bars and Floor!

When I'm not at the gym, you'll find me with my two kiddos, or sometimes, they'll be at the gym with me! I also enjoy being outdoors and hunting!

My name is Kristi, and I have been coaching for Tuscola Youth Gymnastics since 2024. I was a former Vassar High School gymnast and ran the Vassar Youth program in the early 2000's. My speciality is working with the young ones, and I love coaching preschool children. I also run a homeschool program, and my children are a part of that. 

When I'm not at the gym, I run a family farm and a homeschool program. Our family enjoys the outdoors and tries to be outside as much as possible.
